Mimi’s ethereal and dynamic melodies paired with her lyrical vulnerability and wit creates a unique sound reminiscent of the stripped-down form and uninhibited authenticity of 70s folk singer-songwriters. Along with Canadian folk legends such as Joni Mitchell and Gordon Lightfoot, Mimi draws inspiration from a vast well of artists including Adrianne Lenker, Weyes Blood, Laura Marling, and Fiona Apple. Born, raised, and based in Toronto, Mimi frequently plays shows around the city as well as in Montreal, Halifax, and out west in BC, captivating audiences with just her voice, guitar, and compelling storytelling. The daughter of two actors, Mimi grew up with the theatre as her second home, attending countless plays and concerts throughout her childhood. Mimi lived in Sweden and Montreal before moving back to Toronto to attend Seneca College’s Independent Songwriting and Performance program, graduating in the Spring of 2024. Mimi has self-produced 2 EPs; In Winter… (2023/24) and Oh Heaven, How to Hold You (2024).
